Nov. 7 - Nealy's Baptism
We're at the end of our last full day in China. This morning we did a little shopping in a 6-story mall full of very small shops of everyting from hair clips to fine china. We said our good byes to 3 families in the group this afternoon and then this evening to one other family who is leaving early tomorrow morning. We then did some emergency shopping at the Friendship Store as we were down to our last wipe and we probably didn't have enough formula or diapers to get back to St. Louis and needed some ZipLoc bags (aka, toxic waste bags) for the flight back. For dinner we went to a Cantonese restaurant here in the hotel. Tomorrow we'll take it easy and probably lounge around the hotel. We leave the hotel at 4:30pm, and our flight leaves Guangzhou at 9pm our time, so hopefully we'll be boarding around 8pm, just in time for Nealy to go to sleep. Next stop: Los Angeles! Can't wait to see everyone, for everyone to meet Nealy and for Nealy to meet everyone... and can't wait for water not needing to be boiled before drinking, cooler/dryer weather (have we mentioned it's very hot and very humid here?), and no need to dig through the luggage to find everything.

Nealy enjoying her favorite breakfast, spare rib flavored congee. Anyone know where we can find this in St. Louis?

Surprise! The daily monsoon!

John's appetizer -- a bowl of about 25 goose tongues with a ginger sauce. We also had roasted goose, barbequed pork ribs and steamed mushroom, fungus, zucchini and soybean sprouts.
Brrrp! Didn't know goose tongues had a bone!
