Forbidden City

Last time we were here, several of the large buildings in the Forbidden City were under major renovations for the Olympics. The renovations are now complete and boy does it look good. It was a very nice day today in Beijing, blue sky and everything! Since we have been here before, the crowds did not bother us as much, which definitely made it more enjoyable.

The Great Wall

Our last stop today as a group was the Great Wall and it was just as cool the second time. We think the section that we went to today was not the same as in 2007. Again, the weather made all this another spectular experience for us. You can actually see the clear blue sky in the pictures. It was hot, but a nice breeze. We made it up to three towers before turning around and heading back to the group. The steps are tricky and not something you want to tackle on tired legs on the day before you meet your daughter for the very first time!

So, at the end of the day we ordered room service and will prepare to leave Beijing at 6am tomorrow morning. Our luggage will be picked up at 5am tomorrow , we head out of the hotel at 6am to travel to Nanchang, and then it's "Gottcha Day".
