It's official!
Today, Nealy became ours forever and we have the offical "Red Folder" and first official family photo to prove it. We met several nannies from Nealy's orphanage and she slept right through it. We should have her passport by week's end. Over the last day and a half, it has become clear to us why it took us 4+ years to get her... She is absolutely the perfect baby for us! She is not scared of John at all. In fact, I think she is proud to have such a tall daddy (a rarity in China and the natives make it a point to chat about his size not knowing John understands what they are saying). We have not had any real tears and only a little bit of fussiness and that is mostly due to hunger. Already, Nealy is becoming stronger and more sturdy with sitting up by herself. She is very small for her age and weighs a little under 15lbs at 10 months but seems very long. We are not sure, but we think that she is the smallest baby in our group. It makes her very portable and have been able to carry her everywhere we go.
Lots of smiles and another big nap.
Walmart Supercenter
After all the official work was done, the group stopped at a Walmart Supercenter for diapers and formula. We are lucky Nealy has eaten the formula we brought with us, and today she drank the formula we bought here. Ironically, she is a good eater despite her size. This store occupies two floors inside a mall and was packed! There were Walmart employees stationed throughout the store and were very helpful.
